I remember when Lenovo first started getting popular. I had no idea who they were. Were they the international trade name for IBM? Did IBM acquire them? Vice versa? When I started seeing Lenovo Thinkpads, it really threw me for a loop. I thought back to my days at college where I used an IBM Thinkpad that I got from the school for free. What was going on? Turns out, IBM sold off their personal computer business to Chinese based Lenovo. They certainly hit the ground running, releasing a great slew of products over the years. This, of course, has led us inexorably to the Lenovo Flex 3 2-in-1 Touchscreen Laptop.
Lenovo Flex 3 Specs
The Lenovo Flex 3 comes in a few different display sizes, starting from 11 inches and going all the way to the 15 incher. You also have the option of upgrading to an AntiGlare Multitouch LED screen. Or, if you choose, you can forego the touchscreen aspect altogether. I think the Lenovo Flex 3 really shines in the 15.6″ variation, with the touchscreen. You can customize the internal specs, too. You can have whatever you like. In this case, I’ve opted for the 15 inch, with a Core i5 processor, 4GB RAM, and a 500GB hard drive. It also has an integrated HD camera right above the screen. Respectable features for a great low price. It’s also super thin and weighs less than 5 pounds. But the real unique thing about this Lenovo Flex 3 is the “Flex” part. This laptop is able to bend and fold to different degrees, eventually all the way back onto itself. It can fold into a stand position, a tent, or all the way closed like a tablet computer. Excellent. (Note: Unfortunately it cannot fly away like it looks like it’s doing in all of the marketing pictures. Ca-Caw!)
Lenovo Flex 3, The Man Opinion:
This, like curved screen HDTV’s, might be something you have to just try before you realize how much awesomeness is packed inside. I never knew I wanted a curved screen television until I got one and I never knew I needed a laptop with such a degree of flexibility until I used the Lenovo Flex 3. All the different positions are great for accomplishing different tasks efficiently. Whether you’re sketching something, reading a novella, or watching Netflix, this thing has an optimal position to help you get it done! This is effectively a laptop when you need it to be and it’s a tablet at all other times.
