When you think of any kind of activity tracker or fitness band, what comes to mind? For me, it’s Fitbit. Whenever I think about any kind of fitness watch, Fitbit is usually the first name that pops up in my head. And with good reason, too. They are the market leader in fitness watches. The Fitbit name is almost synonymous with the phrase fitness watch. The Fitbit Surge continues that trend. It’s currently one of the #1 Best Sellers at Amazon.com. Period. It’s also one heck of a smartwatch, too. Gentleman, we may have ourselves a winner.
Fitbit Surge Fitness
The Fitbit Surge is a great fitness watch. I don’t know if it should be called a “superwatch,” but it is a pretty solid offering from Fitbit nonetheless. It comes in 2 different sizes; small and large. You can also find it in a few different colors. I prefer black. I think if you’re going to be wearing this throughout the day on a daily basis, you should probably stick to black, too. The Fitbit Surge is a tad bit bulkier than some other activity trackers and, matched with bright colors, can stand out like a sore thumb. Getting into the features of the watch, it incorporates all of the features of the Fitbit Charge HR, but adds a few things. The Fitbit Surge is the only watch from Fitbit to offer music controls, phone call/text notifications, and GPS all in one package. If you’re unfamiliar with the Fitbit products, we’ll go over the basic features of this device. The Fitbit Surge features built-in GPS, which is great for running. It also has “multisport functionality,” which allows you to track different types of motions and activities for different sports. Next, I can tell you that it has spot on, and automatic, continuous heart rate monitoring. This has been a recent feature addition to the Fitbit products. Only this device and the Charge HR have the ability to so accurately track your heart rate. It also has auto sleep detection monitoring, so it still takes care of you while you’re sleeping. When it’s time to wake up, it has a rather useful silent alarm feature that does a pulse vibration on your wrist to gently wake you up.
